Our History

On March 2, 2008, Pastor Marlon launched Valencia Christian Center in Valencia, CA. The church opened on that Sunday, without any prior services or bible studies, with approximately 30 people. Over the next few years, God grew Valencia Christian Center from approximately 30 people to approximately 600 people. Pastor Marlon served as the Senior Pastor of Valencia Christian Center for 10 years, until December 2018.

God transitioned Pastor Marlon back to Denver, Colorado, to the church where he met his wife, Tamara, in 2000, at the Heritage Christian Center. At the passing of Bishop Dennis Leonard, Pastor Marlon honored Bishop Leonard’s and the Church Board’s final request and stepped into the role of Senior Pastor at Heritage Christian Center. Simultaneously, Pastor Marlon’s mother, Dr. Swanzi Saunders, later became Dr. Swanzi Davis, stepped into the difficult role of Senior Pastor of Valencia Christian Center.

In March of 2024, Senior Pastor Henry Pigee and his wife, Pastor Alicia Pigee, accepted the leadership role at Valencia Christian Center. Pastor Henry was celebrating 30 years in pastoral ministry. Recently, both Pastor Henry and Pastor Alicia Pigee received their Doctor of Ministry degrees at Azusa Pacific University School of Theology. What an incredible accomplishment that reflects their dedication to ministry and theological excellence! The entire Valencia Christian Center family is immensely proud of their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to deepening their knowledge to serve God’s Kingdom.

We have always had incredible leadership here at VCC, and we are looking forward to expanding our membership, but more importantly, bringing people to the Word of God.
