Beloved VCC Family,

Grace and peace to you as we enter the latter half of 2026. I thank God for how He has kept us, strengthened us, and carried us, and I believe He is preparing us for a season where the latter will truly be greater than the former.

As we step into July, it’s important to recognize the biblical significance connected to this season. Although our modern calendar differs from the Hebrew one, July aligns with the Hebrew month of Tammuz, a month historically associated with spiritual awakening, reflection, and returning to God. In Scripture, Tammuz is mentioned during a time when God called His people to refocus their worship and turn their hearts back to Him (Ezekiel 8:14–16). This reminds us that mid-year is not just a date on the calendar it is a divine checkpoint, a moment to realign our hearts with God’s purpose.

July also marks the beginning of the biblical summer harvest season, a time of gathering and fruitfulness. Scripture teaches, “He who gathers in summer is a wise son” (Proverbs 10:5), reminding us that this is a season to be spiritually alert and ready for what God is producing in our lives.

And as the seventh month, July carries the biblical symbolism of completion and divine fulfillment. God completed creation on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2–3), and many breakthroughs in Scripture came through obedience connected to the number seven. This is a month where God finishes old cycles and prepares us for new victories.

With this in mind, I speak Haggai 2:9 over our church: “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former.”

Family, let us step into this next season with expectation. Let us pray boldly, serve faithfully, give generously, and believe wholeheartedly. The same God who has carried us through the first half of the year will lead us triumphantly through the second.

The latter will be greater.

With love and anticipation,

Dr. Henry Pigeé
