September, a time of returning, awakening, restoration, and harvest.

Beloved VCC Family,

As we enter the month of September, I want to share its spiritual significance from a biblical perspective. Much of September aligns with the Hebrew month of Elul, a season of returning to God, reflection, and renewal. Scripture invites us to pray as the psalmist did: “Search me, O God, and know my heart” (Psalm 139:23–24). September becomes a time to pause, examine our walk, and realign our hearts with Him.

This month also carries the weight of transition and preparation. Just as seasons shift in the natural, God often shifts His people spiritually. Joel reminds us, “Return to Me with all your heart” (Joel 2:12–13). September calls us to prepare for what God is about to unfold next.

September is also a harvest month, symbolizing increase and divine reward. The apostle Paul encourages us, “In due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). I believe this is a time when God begins to reveal what has been growing beneath the surface: answers to prayer, renewed strength, and fresh opportunities.

Finally, September leads us toward the Feast of Trumpets, a biblical season of awakening and spiritual alertness. Scripture declares, “Blow the trumpet… sound the alarm” (Joel 2:1). It is a reminder that God is calling His people to attention, to listen, and to expect His movement.

My prayer for you this month is simple: May September be a divine doorway a time of returning, awakening, restoration, and harvest. May you feel the nearness of God, experience His mercy, and step boldly into the new season He is preparing for you.
