Fellowship in the Park: A Day to Remember at Valencia Christian Center

Something special happens when a church family steps outside the sanctuary and into the community. Today, that's exactly what we experienced at Vista Canyon Park in Santa Clarita, as Valencia Christian Center hosted our annual Fellowship in the Park event.

Families from our congregation and from the surrounding Santa Clarita community came out to enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, connection, and fun. There were games for the kids (and let's be honest, plenty of adults got in on the fun too), a raffle that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, and food that had folks going back for seconds and maybe thirds.

None of this would have come together without the vision and leadership of Minister Valarie Moore, who organized the event from start to finish. Her attention to detail and heart for bringing people together were evident today. And she wasn't alone. She was surrounded by a volunteer staff that was as diligent and hardworking.

But if there's one word that captures the spirit of today, it's collective. Every ministry at VCC poured into this event, and you could feel it. From setup to breakdown, from the games to the food tables, this was truly one body working together.

Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for supporting our VCC family.

If today reminded us of anything, it's this: fellowship isn't just an activity we schedule; it's a reflection of whom we're called to be. Scripture tells us in Hebrews 10:24-25 not to give up meeting together, but to encourage one another. Pastor Henry Pigee often calls VCC family, God designed us for community rather than isolation. When His people gather, something sacred happens. Bonds are strengthened, burdens are shared, and joy multiplies simply because it's experienced together.

Today wasn't just about games, raffles, and good food. It was about living out the truth that we were never meant to walk this journey alone. We were made for each other, made for community, made for fellowship. Today, Valencia Christian Center got to live that out beautifully, together, as one family in Christ.
