A Sacred Celebration: VCC June Baptism Ceremony

Baptism is more than a ritual, it's a powerful declaration of faith and a transformative step in our journey with Christ. When we go under the water, we symbolically die to our old selves, and when we rise, we emerge as new creations ready to walk in the fullness of God's purpose for our lives. The Apostle Paul captures this truth in Romans 6:4: "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

This past Sunday, June 28th, right after our morning service, we had the incredible honor of witnessing four souls take this bold step of obedience and faith. Senior Pastor Henry Pigee´ and Pastor Jay Stepter led the baptisms for Juliana Stepter, Emily Case, Tommie Ward, and Sheree Spencer.

What made this day even more extraordinary was the diversity of our baptism class. From longtime members to those who have recently joined our VCC family, each person's journey reminded us that God's timing is always perfect. But perhaps the most moving moment came when we celebrated Mother Tommie Ward, who at 94 years young, and having been with Valencia Christian Center since its inception, chose this day to publicly declare her faith through baptism. Her commitment serves as a powerful testament that it's never too late to say "yes" to God's call.

These four individuals stepped into a new chapter of their spiritual lives, surrounded by a church family that will walk alongside them every step of the way.
